CLASSWORK:
- Today, class started with a review of MPs, and the operations of the House of Commons.
- We also looked at text P. 231-233 "Is the Senate Worth Keeping?" and discussed key points and arguements.
- We then looked at the overhead handout titled, "Role of the Senate", and learned about Senators - how they secure their positions, who is eligible to sit in the Senate, and the roles and responsibilities of Senators.
- Next, we discussed and reviewed the process of how laws are made (this info can be found on P. 236-240 of the Textbook and in Mr. Clark's overhead handouts titled, "How a Bill Becomes a Law", and "Passage of a Bill in Parliament".
- We then read and clarified the assignment on the handout titled, "Senate - Yes, No or Maybe".
- Students were provided the remainder of the class to complete the assignment titled, "Senate - Yes, No or Maybe".
HOMEWORK:
Students were asked to complete the assignment titled, "Senate - Yes, No or Maybe" for Thursday, February 18.
